- СтавкаATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOUR OF BOSNIAN HOUSEHOLDS TOWARDS FOOD WASTE(Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Montenegro, 2020) VAŠKO, Željko; BERJAN, Siniša; EL BILALI, Hamid; ALLAHYARI, Mohammad Sadegh; OSTOJIĆ, Aleksandar; BOTTALICO, Francesco; DEBS, Philipp; CAPONE, RobertoIn order to determine the amount and value of food waste, a regional survey was carried out, among others, in the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), at the beginning of 2016. A number of 581 respondents participated in on-line survey and their answers were processed using descriptive statistics and dual-non-parametric test. The results of the research were presented according to logical units: socio-economic characteristics of households; general habits when buying food; attitude toward food products shelf life; attitude toward food waste and factors of rational use of food. Most households in BiH prepare meals at home, and do not often eat in a restaurant or buy ready-made food. Food is mostly purchased in supermarkets and hypermarkets and about half of the respondents discard less than 0.5 kg of food weekly, the value of which is less than 5 euros. The above and other results suggest that food waste in BiH is still not a big problem, which is a consequence of the tradition and way of life, but also of low living standard.

Consequently, there is less and less agricultural land. Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the countries whose population is decreasing from year to year, partly owing to negative natural increase and partly owing to the migrations of young people to developed western countries. However, despite the depopulation trend, there has been a significant decline in agricultural land in the first two decades of the twenty-first century. The reasons should be sought in various socio-economic processes that crucially affect spatial development. In order to understand the changes that are happening in the field, the paper analyzes the structure of agricultural land losses in B&H based on the database of the European project CORINE Land Cover. In relation to the five main land cover categories (artificial surfaces, agricultural areas, forests and semi-natural areas, wetlands and water bodies), the data show that in the period from 2000 to 2018 artificial areas increased spatial coverage, forests and semi-natural areas as well, while agricultural land decreased. The aim of the research is to identify the spatially largest changes of agricultural land subclasses into other types of land cover, in order to determine the causes and areas with the most intense pressure. This is essential given the fact that agricultural land is becoming an increasingly important natural resource over time.
