The selection of a sustainable supplier has a strategic significance and represents the critical phase for the whole sustainable supply chain. The process of the functioning of the supply chain depends on this activity. This paper is aimed at defining the most important criteria for the assessment and selection of a sustainable supplier in the company for lime production. For the purpose of decision-making in this process, a team of experts was formed for the comparison and assessment of the criteria grouped at two levels. At the first level, there are the economic, social and environmental criteria which consist of the seven sub-criteria for each of the main groups. In order to determine the significance of the
criteria, the Full Consistency method (FUCOM) was applied. The obtained results show the significance of the criteria at both decision-making levels with respect to the selection of a sustainable supplier. An adequate supplier selection is carried out by using the sustainable criteria that will ensure a possibility of having both timely and quality production. This generates competition growth in the market for companies.
