- СтавкаDeterminants of Fertility Intentions of theWomen in Bosnia and Herzegovina—An Example from the Semberija Region(MDPI, 2023) Golub, Rada; Ivkov-Dzigurski, Andjelija; Simeunović, VladoThe aim of this paper was to analyze the socio-demographic determinants of fertility in Bosnia and Herzegovina that affect the number of live births in Semberija. The paper focuses on work and educational statuses, economic crisis and unemployment, and other relevant factors that affect desired family sizes and lead to negative demographic trends. The relevant data were collected through a survey questionnaire filled by a verified sample of 1000 women in their reproductive period (aged 15–49). In order to evaluate the role of each research variable in predicting fertility intentions, the arithmetic mean, frequency of responses in percentage, Pearson’s coefficient, and a logistic regression model were used to explore the related factors of fertility behaviors among women in this population. The results showed that employment status, poor housing conditions, and financial support from the state statistically significantly impact future birth trends. Those socio-demographic factors affect desired family sizes and have proven essential to future fertile behavior.

- СтавкаRHETORIC AND POLITICS - THE POWER OF WORDS IN SHAKESPEARE’S JULIUS CAESAR2(University of Banja Luka, Faculty of Philology , Bosnia and Herzegovina, 2023) Dumitrašković, Tatjana A.Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar emphasises the connection between rhetoric and politics. Some scholars, like Gayle Greene and Kim Ballard, point out that rhetoric in Julius Caesar is extremely important for the central political problems and character analysis. They also argue that Shakespeare implicitly criticises and condemns rhetoric that hides moral and political truth. Language is the most influential tool for seizing power in the play. Shakespeare well understands that power comes from those politicians who know how to manipulate the passions of the common people. Shakespeare’s soldiers are at the same time skilful politicians who, by manipulating particular words and gestures, try to attain their own ambitious goals. Funeral speeches offer Brutus and Antony a chance to convince people of the value of their own ideology through the power of spoken words. Describing Caesar’s murder as the result of the conspirators’ efforts to maintain order in Rome, Brutus uses prose and parallelisms to create a sense of balance. Using blank verse, apostrophe, repetition and irony, Antony affects the feelings of the Roman people and causes them to revolt. Shakespeare emphasises that mastering rhetoric results in strong political power and control
- СтавкаInternal Motivation and Students’ Knowledge of Math(Faculty of teacher education, Zagreb, Croatia, 2021) Zubac, Marina; Milinković, Dragica; Marković, OliveraThe aim of this research was to determine whether teaching mathematics in an interesting way has an effect on increasing motivation and success of high school students. With this purpose, an experimental research was carried out with comparative groups in high schools in Čitluk, Ljubuški and Mostar on a sample of 300 students. Interesting teaching methods were utilised with students in the experimental group, while the control group worked in a traditional way. The survey questionnaire and the test of knowledge served as measuring instruments. Testing was performed at the beginning and at the end of the study. Lykert-type scale was used to test internal motivation while statistical significance of statistical significance of differences was measured using the mixed ANOVA model 2x2 and t- test. The results show a better effect of interesting teaching on the success of students, as well as an increase in students’ motivation to learn mathematics. Therefore, it is recommended to apply interesting methods in teaching mathematics.
